"The cold, jarring reality of what we were witnessing struck fear and awe to the core of every one of us. Suddenly beholding its vivid, magnificent structure summoned all emotions at once. You could almost hear our hearts pounding above that suspended instant of silence. Less than thirty yards away, the metallic craft hung motionless, fifteen feet above a tangled pile of logging slash.

The craft was stationary, hovering well below the treetops near the crest of the ridge. The hard, mechanical precision of the luminous vehicle was in sharp contrast to the primitive ruggedness of the dark surroundings. Its edges were clearly defined. The golden machine was starkly outlined against the deepening blue of the clear evening sky.

The soft yellow haze from the craft dimly illuminated the immediate area with an eerie glow. Under the weird light, the encircling forest took on bizarre hues that were very different from its natural colors. The trees, the brush, and the grass all reflected subtle, peculiar new shades."

Prometheus

You can add Ridley Scott's PROMETHEUS the list of upcoming genre flicks I'm dying to see. A return to his roots - this is looking to be an intense sci-fi epic (not another lame ALIEN VS. PREDATOR). In case you haven't heard about it, here's the official synopsis:

Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life's ultimate mystery.

PROMETHEUS launches on June 8, 2012.

Montauk

Not sure about all the reenactments this film builds its story around (I think I would have preferred a straight documentary), but it definitely looks interesting. You can't deny that the park where this is located is a fascinating location with secrets hidden all over the place - some in plain sight...

Saucer Tale

At an Independence Day party over vacation I happened to overhear an elderly lady say something along the lines of: "...that's pretty scary, but not as scary as that UFO we saw!" Naturally I was at her side in seconds, plying her for information and details of her alleged encounter - and what a story she had to tell! Unfortunately, I didn't get her permission to share the story, so I will just hit the high points and say that it had your classic lit-up saucer (it happened at night), multiple witnesses, burn marks in a pasture, and mysterious agents who showed up the next day and harassed her and her family for days afterward.

Without giving the exact location, this happened in southern Missouri sometime in 1969. The incredible story was written up in the local newspaper (although the woman wasn't sure how that could be as no one from the paper talked to her about it and the story was factually incorrect - making it all seem like she fell asleep at the wheel and dreamed the encounter - it was treated like a joke). The most intriguing part of the story was the woman's physical demeanor as she told the tale. Even all these years later she was still visibly shaken by this event, trembling and with tears in her eyes as she recounted the sighting.

The truth is out there - and this lady got a lot closer to it than most...

Take it for what it's worth - it's the viral video of the day.

Black Triangles

What you're seeing here, according to the UK Ministry of Defense, can be explained thusly: "black triangle" class UFO sightings are caused by buoyant formations of high-energy plasma electricity created between multiple meteors simultaneously entering the atmosphere. These meteors are theorized to occasionally emanate between them an energy field that refracts light, producing the appearance of a black polygonal shape with the lights at the corners made up of the burning meteors themselves.

I feel much better now knowing that huge hovering mechanical three dimensional intelligently controlled geometric object with the pulsing lights was simply an atmospheric anomaly.

Messages

Just finished reading a fascinating book called 'Messages' by Stan Romanek (with an assist from J. Allan Danelek) which details Romanek's bizarre encounters with UFOs, extraterrestrials, and many other instances of 'high strangeness.' If you remember the 'Grey Peeping In The Window' video that was all the rage a year back (and parodied endlessly on YouTube) then you might remember Romanek's name.

His case interested me initially due to the complex mathematical equations he was supposedly given by a higher intelligence - but those equations are only a small part of his story. After reading the book I can't say for certain that Romanek is the real deal - but I will say this: if his story proves to be a hoax then it is the biggest, longest running, and most elaborate hoax of all time. I suggest reading the book and deciding for yourself. If you're a skeptic on the possibility of life beyond our planet, this may be the book to convince you otherwise.

Dark Side of the Moon

Not a big fan of the hand-held 'found footage' sub-genre of horror, but Apollo 18 looks pretty groovy. It wins points for its cool tagline anyway: There's a reason we never went back to the moon. I'll definitely be checking this one out! Apollo 18 launches on Friday, April 22nd. To find out more about the conspiracy, visit:
