Off The Beaten Path

This week at Drive-In of the Dead we have a featured movie that reminds us why we love indie horror so much. Filled with homages to classic horror films, a spooky cabin in the woods, and lots of blood by the bucket! The Minnesota-made OFF THE BEATEN PATH from Not For The Squeamish Productions was a ton of fun for us to review - and as an added bonus we were able to conduct an exclusive interview with its super-cool, but very down-to-earth director: Jason Stephenson which we hope to have uploaded in the next week or two.

Squeamish

Exciting day today. Meeting longtime independent filmmaker, Jason Stephenson, from NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH PRODUCTIONS. The maker of such films as: OFF THE BEATEN PATH, DOOMED TO CONSUME, and TERROR OVERLOAD, Stephenson has been on the Minnesota filmmaking radar for over a decade. A lover of horror and bloody mayhem (as if you couldn't figure that out from his production company's name...) I'm looking forward to talking all things horror and maybe convincing him to give Drive-In of the Dead an exclusive interview. Check out his movies here:

Extraction

Just learned of the official name for Minnesota's own NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH PRODUCTIONS' latest installment in their 'You're Next' series. This from NFTS founder Jason Stephenson's Facebook post last night:

"Even though someone decided to make a horror feature titled YOU'RE NEXT coming soon... I stand by my humble beginings dating back to 2003 with my 1st super short called YOU'RE NEXT as well... Be well prepared for some not so family friendly sites to see for YN4: Extraction!!!"

Looking forward to this one - and the 'You're Next' series is definitely Stephenson's baby - the one that started it all - so we can expect good things in the form of low-budget, high intensity local horror!

You're Next 4?

What's this? Another 'You're Next' movie is in the works? That sure seems to be the case according to Jason Stephenson, founder of Minnesota's own: Not For The Squeamish Productions. Stephenson dropped this bit of info on Facebook last night regarding the possibility of a new installment - check it out:

"Yep, thinking I need to shoot a 4th part to the ongoing NFTS Productions YOU'RE NEXT series (Pt 3 known as PAJAMA PARTY MASSACRE) so I can work with some new talent & cure that itch for making movies till the new feature this summer... details soon!!!"

This is surprising but very cool information considering his recent post just a couple of weeks ago regarding NFTS's now in development 'A Haunting On Eerie Street.' Stay tuned to learn more about this as we hear it!

Eerie

Minnesota's own premiere horror production company Not For The Squeamish Productions recently announced the title for their upcoming independent film project. Check out the quote that NFTS founder Jason Stephenson just shouted out on Facebook - I dig the title!

"Hey horror fiends... Be well prepared for me and the NFTS Productions gang to keep making horror history Minnesota style in 2011 with... A HAUNTING ON EERIE STREET now in pre-pre-pre production!!! cast and crew call coming sooon!!!"

We are proud to feature our home-town boys this week: Minnesota's own Not For The Squeamish Productions!

Founded by horror film fanatic Jason Stephenson, NFTS joined forces with film-fiend Jon Warner and has quickly become the premiere independent horror film production company in the Northstar State, offering up low-budget, high energy cinema for the past eight years. We are thrilled to be working with this creative group of filmmakers and look forward to promoting their past and future films. 2011 looks to be an exciting year for the gang at NFTS, and we're hoping to spill plenty of dirt on their gruesome goings-on!
