Return of the Astro-Zombies!
Ted V. Mikels' Astro-Zombies To Rampage At World PremiereThrills Await Las Vegas Audiences
“This has to be one of Ted’s finest pieces of entertainment ever,” said first assistant director Gary Lester. “Audiences at our Sneak Peek screenings in Florida could not stop applauding as the credits were rolling.”
Alpha New Cinema will roll-out the DVD through Oldies.com the end of May. A special limited edition collectibles set can be ordered from TVM Studios and Ted V. Mikels’ official website.
The set includes a numbered and autographed DVD, along with an array of free gifts -- an autographed 8x10 color photo of Ted V. Mikels, a specially minted AZM 4 pin, a skull key-chain, and a raffle ticket to win one of ten mini-lasers. The raffle will occur prior to the May 20 screenings, with the ten winners receiving a laser in their free gifts package. Among the extra free gifts included in the 100 limited edition sets will be two highly collectible autographed promo cards from prior Ted V. Mikels movies.
Only 100 collector’s sets are being sold, which include the first 100 DVDs off the assembly line. The set retails for only $20, plus $5.95 shipping, and can be purchased (while supplies last) by contacting tvmstudios@aol.com or visiting www.tedvmikels.com. Anyone attending the Las Vegas premiere can purchase their collectibles set for $20, with no postage or shipping required.
Also available will be a limited number of beautiful laminated and autographed AZM 4 mini- posters. They are reasonably priced at $20, but can only be acquired at the world premiere in Las Vegas -- which will make them an extremely rare collectible immediately. Foreign distributors interested in acquiring a territory for international rights should request a screener from tvmstudios@aol.com.
Prior to the May 20 Astro-Zombie invasion, Theatre 7 appears to still be intact and standing at 1406 S. Third St. in Las Vegas.
Astro-Zombies M4: Invaders From Cyberspace is a TVM Global Entertainment production, in association with Blue Heron International Pictures. For further information, please e-mail tvmstudios@aol.com

AZM4 Update
Hello my dear friends: Thought it might be time to let you know what is happening. ASTRO ZOMBIES M4: INVADERS FROM CYBERSPACE is well under way!
Editing goes on until the wee hours every morning, both in Las Vegas, and Daytona Beach Florida, but the final story is taking shape. The Astro Zombies on their planet MOZORTSA- V are making a dramatic departure for planet earth through cyberspace as their planet is on an unavoidable collision course with asteroid XTG467.
The volunteering ASTRO ZOMBIES are causing death and destruction in all major corners of the earth using laser energy, hoping to force eartth's citizens to accept their presence. As always, the populace from Germany, England, Japan, Spain, Australia, and the United States fight desperately against these cybersapce marauders who have infiltrated our entire internet systems. San Francisco, California, New York City, Portland Oregon, Daytona Beach Florida, face destruction.
Gary Lester, my First Assistant Director, is utilizing all the current tricks of the trade in creating totally believable visions of carnage and destruction.
Homeland security personnel, our President, even with the help of our military, seem powerless to stop this cyberspace barrage. Richard Lester, my Associate Producer with Blue Heron Films, works diligently to help keep our international production units in total communication. Our Actors and Actresses have created a superb degree of credibility in making this latest of my Astro Zombie movies highly entertaining. Look for it by October this year. At this time, International Distribution is not set.
Even throughout my editing period, I answer hundreds of e-mails from individual senders, I love hearing from all of you.
Your friend and dedicated film-maker,
TED V. MIKELS

Kick Astro
Every once in a while at Drive-In of the Dead I'm fortunate enough to be able to get the geek out and do something really cool. Well, last week I had one of those moments where my inner fan-boy came out when I had the opportunity to interview the legendary cult director Ted V. Mikels. For those of you not in the know, Ted is one of the last living directors from the original grindhouse era of films from the 1960's. Responsible for such films as: Astro-Zombies, The Girl In The Gold Boots, The Doll Squad, The Corpse Grinders, and more - Ted has been steadily producing low budget/high entertainment cult films for almost 50 years! It would be a huge understatement to say that I was honored and thrilled to be able to interview someone I admire so much. What's even better is when you talk to the guy and realize that he's just as cool in person as what you imagined him to be. A perfect gentleman and a real professional through and through, Ted is from the old school of film and his love for the cult genre is infectious.
If you haven't checked out any films by Ted V. Mikels, I encourage you to stop by his website and stream them on your computer (for the very affordable price of $2.00 per movie). They're a blast from the past and a groovy reminder of why we love movies in the first place.

What Happens In Vegas
Just received an e-mail from ASTRO-ZOMBIES M4 producer Richard Lester in which he let drop a few interesting bits of info regarding legendary cult director Ted V. Mikels' latest Astro-Zombie movie. Here's what he had to say:TVM Global Entertainment, in association with Blue Heron International Pictures, announced today that Ted V. Mikels' latest movie, Astro Zombies M4: Invaders from Cyberspace, is almost finished filming in Las Vegas. "We have three more scenes and a few pick-up shots to do here, and then we concentrate on second units in California, Oregon, Barcelona and Berlin," said Mikels from his Las Vegas studio. "Production in Florida, Tokyo, and New York City has been completed."
"I can assure you that the Astro Zombies are wreaking havoc and creating sheer terror throughout the world," said assistant director Gary Lester, who was in Las Vegas last week assisting Ted V. Mikels with principal cinematography. "Rumor has it that San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge will soon become a cinematic casualty." Only Ted V. Mikels knows, however, and he is not telling. "However, I will say that the people in California and Berlin better watch out," said Mikels. "They are in the direct path of an Astro Zombie invasion next month!"

Quote of the Day
"It takes your guts and your entrails and your soul to make a film. It takes everything you possess within you."--Ted V. Mikels

More AZM:4 News
"This month we filmed major scenes for Astro Zombies M4: Invaders From Cyberspace in Florida and NYC. We also completed location scouting and casting in Berlin, Germany, and will be filming at such landmarks as the Brandenburg Gate and the historic Reichstag building. Tomorrow and Sunday we wrap Florida by taking over an entire city block and shooting major panic in the streets. We also completed principal casting in Las Vegas this week."
The best part about all this globe-trotting and filmmaking is that I got Mr. Lester to agree to have Ted give Drive-In of the Dead a few minutes of his time for an exclusive one-on-one interview when he has a minute to spare. How cool is that? Stay tuned for our talk with Ted coming up in the next few weeks!

Action!
Ted V. Mikels Begins Production On New Astro Zombie Movie!TVM Global Entertainment, in association with Blue Heron International Pictures, have announced that production on Astro Zombies M4: Invaders From Cyberspace has begun. According to Director Ted V. Mikels, the new year will see another close collaboration between the two film companies on what is already shaping up as his most exciting movie yet. "Our second unit cameras began rolling Saturday in Florida," said Mikels. "My assistant director, Gary Lester, along with cameraman Dave Karner and audio production assistant Rob Kelly turned in some great footage after a 12 hour shoot. Audiences will be absolutely thrilled in the opening minutes of this new movie."
Mikels will be introducing film audiences to two of his newly discovered actresses in the opening minutes of the film. Trista Catineau and Rachel Hansen, will play two college students who respond bravely to a werewolf attack. "That's right. A werewolf attack," said assistant director Gary Lester. "In Ted's latest movie, humanity is threatened not only by rampaging Astro Zombies, but a seven foot tall werewolf also drops by to wreak a little havoc."
"Stay tuned," said the legendary director Mikels. "Gary will be filming second unit scenes with a psychic medium and a few scientists at a top secret government lab before we start principal photography in March in Las Vegas. We are definitely on a roll with this production." So let the world beware. Once again, Ted V. Mikels has started unleashing his lethal Astro Zombies -- along with a seven foot tall werewolf -- and they are wasting no time claiming new victims on the big screen.(Photos courtesy of TVM Global Entertainment.
